10 Good Reasons why YOU should jump into Trading FOREX

Author: An Article by Humaira Aslam

Foreign Exchange Market is a market where traders buy and sell currencies with the hope of making a profit when the values of the currencies change in their favor. People are making vast amounts of money from Forex trading. The Forex Market has a big potential for everyone, ranging from large corporate firms to ordinary, everyday people like you and me.

It is a very exciting trade with a huge money-making potential. Just imagine yourself sitting comfortably in your pajamas at your computer... you turn on the internet and make a few quick transactions and by the time that you get up to get a cup of coffee, you are several hundred dollars rich! Would you like that? I would!! I can hear you say, "Wait a minute!! This sounds just like another one of those confusing markets like stocks, options or traditional futures, so what makes this market any different?"

Aaah! Good question! So, in answer to your question, here are 10 good (if not great) reasons to enter the Forex Trade:

1. First and foremost, Forex trading allows for small investments. You do not have to be able to invest thousands of dollars to get started with this trade. You can start trading Forex with as little as $300 to $350 and could be well on your way to earning more than that on your first day. 2. The Forex markets are always open! You are able to trade anytime and from anywhere in the world. No waiting for the stock exchange to open. The market is ongoing, with generally only minor breaks on the weekends.

3. The funds that you invest are liquid; you can cash them anytime you want. No waiting for days to get your stocks converted into hard cash.

4. The value of the Forex Trading market is COLOSSAL: it is 30 times larger than all of the US equity markets combined. It is the largest market in the world with daily reported volume of 1.5 to 2.0 trillion dollars. This massive value makes it a lucrative and desirable trade to invest in.

5. It is a highly stable trade and offers greater strength over other markets. Countries and people are ALWAYS going to need currency. Although the value of different currencies goes up and down, the fluctuations are not as dramatic as stock prices and generally follow a predictable trend.

6. You do not have to worry about commissions, exchange fees nor any hidden charges when you trade Forex. Forex brokers make only a small percentage of the bid and there are very respectable and free brokers available as well. Is that not wonderful for you?

7. You make profits no matter which way the currency is going. You will not worry about a falling currency value if you know what to do with it and make good gains.

8. Forex is a very transparent market. Unlike equity markets, where analysts have an unfair advantage over the layman because of their insider knowledge, the relevant information for Forex is equally available to every one through international news. Therefore, all Forex traders are in a position to make pertinent decisions according to the current market situations.

9. Forex market is extremely quick! It takes not more than 1 to 2 seconds to complete your transactions because it is all done electronically, online and in Real Time.

10. The final good news is that you do not need any formal education, licensing, diploma or degree to trade Forex. All you need is the know-how of how it works, trading strategies and some tips and techniques and you can be on your way to earn big profits.

Forex trading online may be the fastest path to financial freedom and an end to all your financial worries. It truly is an excellent, if not THE best home business opportunity for ordinary people.
You owe it to yourself to give it a try!!!
Prosperity and happiness to all!

Want to Trade FOREX? Then Ask Yourself This Simple Question

Author: Kelly Price

What's your edge?

If you want to win at FOREX trading you must have an edge remember this fact:

Around 95% of traders lose – so if you don’t know what your edge is you will join them.

Let’s look at the basis of having an edge and what you need to win.

FOREX Trading is HARD – and anyone who says it’s easy, is lying.

You need an edge that allows you to win while the vast bulk of traders lose, it really is that simple.

The basis of what you need to do to achieve an edge is outlined below:

1. You can’t buy success

If you think you can consult a guru or get anyone else to give you success you need to wake up and need to “smell the coffee”!

If guru’s made money in the vast majority of cases they wouldn’t need clients.

Some are good and genuine, but that’s probably less than 1%.

If you want to follow one, you need to understand what they are doing, have total confidence in their method and see a real time track record of success.

You then need the confidence to follow their method with discipline.

2. You need a method you understand and know why it makes money

This means in most cases means deriving your method on your own and trusting it.

You need to trade it through losses and know you will end up a winner longer term and remember, all methods have long periods where they lose.

To win longer term you need to have total confidence in what you are doing and stick with your method through good times and more importantly, the bad.

If you don’t have discipline, you will fall by the wayside like the vast majority of traders and won’t be able to execute your method.

If you don’t have discipline to trade your method, you have no method at all!

3. What sets you apart from others?

This is your “edge” the reason you will beat other traders.

If you don’t know what your edge over other traders you will lose.

When you trade in the market you trade against other traders.

It’s a brutal world where only the strong survive and you need to have an advantage and more importantly, know what it is.

An edge in trading can be a number of things, but one thing is for sure:

You need to know what it is and why it allows you to take on and beat the vast majority of other traders.

Common traits of traders with an edge are:

They understand everything about the market:

How it moves and why and they have built a method themselves that suits their personality.

They then have total confidence in their method and can apply it with discipline to preserve and make them money.

If you want to win you need to do the same.

In conclusion, if you don’t know what your edge is, forget FOREX trading and do something else with your money or you will lose it all.

Forex Training- How To Use A Mini Account For Maximum Effect

Author: Michael A. Jones

For the absolute beginner, Forex training can take some years. During this time many novice traders stay with a free demo account from an online broker determined to make consistent profits in the demo account before going 'live' with hard earned cash.

That approach is certainly cautious and wise. At some point however, it can be advantageous to switch to a mini account, to speed up the learning curve.

Why Switch From Demo To Mini

The reason is this:

No matter how disciplined you are and no matter how seriously you treat a demo account constantly trying to imagine you are trading with real money, a demo account is still a demo account! That has a huge psychological overhead whether you care to admit it or not.

Once you start trading with real money you will realize how different the real world is! But how can you minimize the cost of Forex training and be reasonable in how much you spend on your education?

Enter the mini account! With a pip valued at a dollar or less, and with a minimum opening balance of around 250 to 300 dollars, you can continue your Forex training with low risk.

Notice that expression "continue your Forex training." Yes, a mini account is still a practice account. That is a good way to view it. What if you open one for 250 dollars and a couple of months later it's exceeded the margin call (blown in other words)? Then your Forex education has just cost you a little less than 250 dollars (taking into account the small remaining balance).

Obviously you wouldn't want to do this many times. It could be after blowing a mini account you decide to go back again for a couple of weeks to the demo and fine tune your strategy. Then when you feel confident again, fund your mini with another one or two hundred dollars.

Some may object and think this is a waste. Putting it in perspective, the cost is very small. After all, it's the cost of your Forex training education. Some persons spend thousands of dollars for a couple of days in a seminar and think nothing of it. One new trader I heard talking to another was asked how much he put in his first account. His reply? "$15,000". It was gone in a couple of months.

A cautious, one step at a time, $100 at a time approach will be far less stressful on both the nerves and the pocket unless you've got money to throw at the wall.

How To Maximize The Mini Account

Now once you have traded successfully in a mini account, bringing the balance up, perhaps doubling or tripling your initial starting balance, you can now really start to maximize the benefits of a mini account.

How?

While strict risk management is crucial, and somewhere between 1 to 2% of your equity should be the maximum risk on any one trade, some Forex training educators suggest making that more like 5 to 10 % when you only have a few hundred in your mini account. This will allow you to start trading in multiple lots.

For example, suppose you build your mini account to $600 and then start to trade with 2 lots. You then set a conservative profit target for the first lot, and a more ambitious profit target for the second lot. As you take your first profit you move your stop up to protect the second lot so you are at least in a 'can't lose' trade from there on.

If the balance drops below $600 then go back to trading one lot until you pass the threshold again.

Once you start trading multiple lots in a mini account using this safety net strategy, your account will begin to grow slowly and steadily.

At some future time, perhaps once you have reached a couple of thousand dollars in your account, you may wish to then implement more stringent risk management principles and go to 1 to 2% of your equity on any one trade.

In Conclusion

This approach may not be appreciated by everyone. It depends on your nature and character. For me, it has helped greatly.

To really start moving forward in your Forex training it is necessary to move from a demo to a mini account at the right time. At the same time it is necessary to get over the fear of trading live.

View the mini account as a Forex training account, fund it very conservatively, switch back to a demo when you feel the need, and aim for raising your balance so you have enough equity to start trading multiple lots.

In this way you can maximize a mini account so it really drives your Forex training to completion.

FOREX Software: A Critical Element for Success

Author: default@goarticles.com (Steve Welker)

In most cases when you sign up with a FOREX broker they will provide you with software to execute transactions as well as get market information. Since online trading has been around for quite some time now, the brokers have a pretty solid understanding of what the traders need from trading software. There are two primary classifications of software provided by the brokers; web based and client based.

One of the mandatory services needed by all FOREX software is real time market updates. Since the FOREX market is so fast paced and volatile traders must have data that is accurate to a few seconds to make decisions on when to enter and exit their positions. All brokers make claims that their software will remain updated with a minimum of delay but the reality is that there are a variety of factors that can delay the software displaying updated information.

The users internet connection speed as well as their geographical distance from the broker are probably the two primary issues that can affect the update time. If you wish to be successful trading FOREX it is highly recommended that you have a high speed internet connection and a fairly up to date computer. You might also consider selecting a broker relatively close to you; if you are trading from the US you might want to avoid a broker based out of Australia. During times of extreme market volatility this distance could cause a delay significant enough to cause issues with your trades.

Web Based or Client Based?

Web Based software is not actually installed on your computer it runs on the brokers web site. You only need to have a browser compatible with the software to access and use this software. Client based software is loaded directly on your computer; in most cases you are able to download the software from the brokers site and then install it. Web based software is rapidly growing in popularity as more and more brokers offer it. The primary advantages to web based software are convenience and security. With web based software you can log in to your account and get market updates and place trades from any computer with an internet connection. If you use client based software you are only able to make trades from the computer that you have the software installed on.

As well as being more convenient web based software also offers a higher level of security. During the actual transmission of data both web based and client based software encrypt the transmitted data with a high level encryption. On client software though there is the risk of data being stolen from the client pc by hackers or Trojans.

The most basic software packages will provide you with real time quotes and information as well as allowing you to enter and execute trades. Up to date quotes are provided for most currency pairs and the software will allow you to open or close a position at market prices. The software should also allow you to set up trades with limit orders and stop loss orders. More advanced packages will also offer charting capability that can show you many different viewpoints.

Any good broker will provide you with basic software free of charge just for using them as your broker. Many of your better brokers will offer an advanced version of their software for a fee. The advanced version will give you extra capabilities such as executing trades right from the chart and enhanced analytical ability.

The Best Form Of Forex Training

Author: IPRWire Staff Writer

It would be foolhardy to jump directly into Forex trading without first completing some form of Forex training. While a strictly hands on education is possible, it can be extremely possible during those first few trades. This is especially true of those who have absolutely no knowledge. Knowledge really is power, especially in the case of making a profit from the Forex industry. In order to gain and take advantage of this power it is necessary for traders to learn many aspects of Forex trading.

Because there is such a barrage of information associated with the Forex market, one of the most difficult aspects of learning the Forex market is determining which information is relevant. In the case of Forex trading, relevant data is that which would seem to point towards or against a movement in currency prices.

Armed with just a single piece of useful information, traders already have the beginning of a trading strategy or a trading system. It will usually be necessary to refine information even further through the use of more data and more analysis but eventually students will be left with indicators that point to a particular movement. These indicators will be the basis of any trades initially completed.

When conducting Forex training it is important to remember that even the most successful traders suffer short-term losses. The key is to make a profit over the long term. Using any form of analysis and any available data at their disposal traders will try to find any indicator that gives them a leading edge over the rest of the market.

True profit is only generated if a trader can beat the rest of the market to a particular trade. Once the market cottons on to a movement in prices many more traders inexperienced in this area of data will also try to take advantage by milking out a few more dollars from the trade.

Forex training teaches traders to start a position at the appropriate time but, equally important, to close that trade at the right time. Inexperience can lead some traders to selling too early or holding on to currency for too long. Either of these can eat into the potential hard earned profits already gained.

Practice accounts combined with a Forex training course is the most potent method of learning to trade the Forex. The hands on experience that a real account provides combined with the background knowledge that can be taken from industry experts leaves virtually no stone unturned in the hunt for Forex profits.

For information pertaining to various forms of Forex training visit the http://www.forextradereducation.com website. It contains various tutorials ranging from basic but invaluable information to some of the key fundamentals and charting procedures involved in Forex trading. The Forex Trader Education website also offers traders the analysis software called VantagePoint, among the most powerful software applications available to Forex traders because of its proven 80% accurate forecasts.

Online Forex Trading - To Make Huge Gains You Must Master 1 Key Problem

Author: Sacha Tarkovsky

Online forex trading looks easy yet few succeed and the bulk of novice traders over 90% wipe out their equity quickly.

Whilst there are many reasons novice traders lose this is the one that wipes out most.

If you don’t overcome this problem you will get wiped out too.

The major problem is:

Dealing with volatility

Many novice traders are more often than not right about market direction, but get stopped out constantly and lose as they cant deal with volatility.

You must find a way to deal with volatility to win at online forex trading.

Make sure that you take calculated risks that mean you can keep losses small when they occur and stay in the trends.

This is much more difficult than most traders think, so lets give some advice on how to deal with it.

1. Don’t day trade

One of the biggest myths of online forex trading is that day trading works – It doesn’t!

Why?

Because daily volatility is totally random and you are trading off support and resistance levels that mean nothing.

There are many day trading systems sold but they don’t make money – ask for the real time track record of profits and you are met with a deafening silence.

Day trading is a mugs game and a guaranteed way to lose, don’t fall for the hype or you will lose your money.

2. Use breakouts

Perhaps the best way to trade is using breakouts of significant resistance or support.

When the breakout occurs go with it – its that simple and place your stop below the breakout point.

Most traders cannot do this.

Why?

Because they want to “buy low and sell high” they wait for the pullback to get in at a better price and of course it never comes.

The fact is that most major moves start from new market highs NOT market lows.

While the stop might have to be a bit wider on a breakout the odds of success are very high.

3. Trailing stops

Most traders are obsessed with locking in some profit and move their stop up as quickly as possible, but this is a guaranteed way to get stopped out.

Then they sit and watch the trade they were in make $10,000 or more and their not in.

Fact is if you want to stay with the big trends don’t trail stops up to quickly

Forex trading involves taking a risk. If you become obsessed with having stops to close or trailing them you will create risk and guarantee you will get stopped out.

4. Trade with momentum

Another error traders make is not trading with momentum indicators they simply enter above support or below resistance and “hope” it holds.

They think that as its close to resistance or support their stop can be close – Yes it can but odds of being stopped out are high.

This goes totally against trading with the trend.

To trade properly you need to get some evidence of a reversal in price and then trade.

Sure, your stop has to be a bit wider but the odds are more in your favour.

Final words

Novice traders try so hard to avoid risk they create it for themselves.

To trade online forex you need to take calculated risks on trades that have high odds of going the way you predict.

This means placing your stop further away and not trailing it to quick.

On paper you have wider stops and more risk – In reality you are trading the odds and have far more chance of making big profits.

It's A Shame For You Not To Trade Forex - When These People Do It So Easily

Author: Peter Lim

Do you know that among all the financial trading markets in the world, the largest market is not the stock market, but is the forex market? Despite this, many people are wary of trading in forex because of the misconceptions that abound regarding forex trading.

3 Main Misconceptions about Forex Trading
-------------------------------------------------

1. Forex trading is unduly risky: Many people are wary of forex trading. They feel that it is very risky to trade in forex. It is correct to say that forex trading, like any other trading activity, carries risk. However the risk can be reduced by acquiring the suitable trading skills and by using the correct software, just like a specialist medical surgeon gets to a high calibre by way of acquiring the required skills and by using the best high-technological and updated surgical tools and instruments. There is no more risk on trading forex than which is common to any other financial instrument when you gain the proper skills and experience.

2. Forex trading can only be done by big time institutions: This is simply a wrong understanding of forex trading. Gone are the days when big time banking institutions can only trade the currency and forex markets. You can now trade forex with as little as $25 leveraging on your margin account.

3. Forex trading utilises expensive trading software: Nowadays, you can avail yourself to free trading software that constitutes the trading platform and also charting interface provided online by forex brokers.Opening an account with an established broker will allow you to access powerful charting software free of charge.

2 Types of Technical Forex Traders
-----------------------------------------

In contrast, in today's financial world, there exists a great number of people who are trading the forex and making profits from their trades. Indeed, the forex market is now open to all individuals who are trading from the comfort of their own home, 24 hours a day as the forex market is always open. Trading online and using the free charting and trading interface of the forex brokers, many traders are now using technical analysis and charting methods to day trade and to swing trade forex, depending on their own personal circumstances.

Among these profitable technical traders are what I would broadly classify into two main groups of technical forex traders - those who use various technical indicators such as bollinger bands, stochastics, RSI, momentum indicators, trendlines, CCI etc , and another group who uses charts with only only price action and time price analysis, notably computing the price levels or studying the price patterns and behavior arising from the price patterns and time, with NO indicators at all.

If you are seeking an alternative source of income or a replacement income to your day job, consider trading forex...but remember to consider that as your business, and like any other business, forex trading must not be entered lightly. It requires your commitment to learn how to trade, to become successful and profitable and to create that consistent income for a living.

How The Matrix Will Boost Your Forex Profits?

Author: Perhaps you remember one of the most impactful movies of our time, the Matrix? Morpheus believed to

Perhaps you remember one of the most impactful movies of our time, the Matrix? Morpheus believed totally in Neo to the point where he almost sacrificed his life to save him. Yet Neo did not believe in himself at the beginning, he was most uncertain about whether he was the One or not. So when he went to see the Oracle, she told him that being the One is like being in love, nobody tells you that you are in love, you just know it. The Oracle pointed to a sign hanging on the door: "Know Thyself"...

Still Neo didn't believe in himself but when agent Smith captured Morpheus and a member of his crew suggested to pull the plug so the agents of the Matrix won't get access to Zion, something in Neo changed and he began to believe...

A little further down the path of the One, Neo "accomplished miracles" because he learned how to believe in himself fully and completely. And remember Neo had a mentor who believed in him beyond any doubt and who taught him how to use his mind to defeat the Matrix and its dangerous agents. Neo's mentor, Morpheus, showed him the path and helped him empower his mind, yet Neo walked the path to his own success after he started believing in himself and mastered his own mind.

Perhaps you were wondering, yes and what has this to do with trading the Forex market?

"Know Thyself"

Forex trading or any trading for that matter is a mind game in the first place. Some people spend a lot of time and efforts perfecting certain trading skills and knowledge like reading the charts and data, entry and exit skills but any normally intelligent person can learn these skills, they are the easiest part of the trading game. They are no doubt necessary tools to your Forex success but they don't make the biggest difference between a really successful Forex trader and the one who is not successful. So what does make the difference?

Let's ask the question: what is your goal in trading the Forex? It is to make money. Period! Surely while you're making the money and great profits you can have fun too and you should but what you need are specific mental attitudes and strengths, that is if you want to be a successful Forex trader. These mental states are an asset that will help you in many other situations and contexts of your life.

As my Forex mentor told me, the major three mental and emotional frames of mind that characterize the majority of successful FOREX traders are:

1.Discipline & Passion 2.Confidence & Courage 3.Patience & Smart Persistence

We'll touch upon all three briefly to make it as clear as crystal to you so you succeed in the Forex market.

Like trading a Pair of Currencies these mental and emotional mindsets go hand in hand.

Discipline & Passion

Discipline, say the most successful Forex traders, is really important! It helps you be more effective in planning your trades and in sticking to the good plans you established before entering the trade. Always have an action plan for stop and limit levels for the trade before you enter it, your analysis should cover up the expected upside and downside.

Passion means commitment and love for what you do. It is your passion for something that keeps you going, improving, constantly learning (willing to buy excellent Forex courses from experienced and successful traders, remember Morpheus mentoring Neo) and persist beyond the ups and downs of the business. You need to know why you are trading the Forex because it is an awesome opportunity that you have to take, so develop a passion for it. Simply do what it takes to be successful, learn from the best.

A word of Caution: Never mistake your "Forex passion" for emotion that you might feel while trading the Forex, when trying to enter a trade without using clear and sound entry/exit indicators and rules. Have fun, learn, and stay tuned for future developments and grow as a person in strength and character in "your Forex business" while remaining emotionally detached when you get in and out of a trade. If you do, you are bound to incredible success in the Forex trading business.

Confidence & Courage

Successful Forex traders believe in themselves and their abilities to learn and grow, to acquire more competence learning from a mentor. There is no reality only perception, the Matrix can trick you but you can have your own special Matrix inside your mind that empowers you with an unwavering belief in yourself!

Have the confidence and courage to stick to your plan and stay with your rules even if others are doing the opposite. Keep your vision (end result) that you can make it in the Forex market in your mind until you are successful in it.

If you experience a situation where you know exactly how a currency pair will go and have a sound trading plan, go for it! Sometimes people fail to follow their own good plans because all sorts of emotions get in their way, emotions like greed and fear. Stay calm and act with confidence and courage otherwise your planning, analyzing and information gathering will be totally useless to you.

You become more competent when you educate yourself about the markets and learn from successful traders. Self develop: "Know Thyself", get into the habit of monitoring your emotions and questioning your limiting beliefs so that your mind works for you and not against you. Don't take things too personally, if you make a mistake then consider it to be valuable feedback so you become more successful, never a failure!

Patience & Smart Persistence

An Indian wisdom says: "Life is always right!" we say: "the market knows much better than you do!"

Learn to listen and read the signs the Forex market is giving you. Learn how to wait, observe and only enter a trade when it is the right time to do so, before you can reap the profits.

It can be hard to wait before your Forex trading screen and not jump into action but The successful FOREX trader will enter a trade according to the direction of the prevailing trend or will wait until a new trend shows up and establishes itself. The waiting ranges from a few hours to days or even weeks before a winning trend appears.

even if you day trade and are not a long-term or position trader, you still are well advised to keep impatience from ruining your profit chances. Also be patient means you stick with winning trades. But be most impatient with losing trades.

Practice "Know Thyself" and continue learning your Forex trading from the best and we are sure you will be a successful Forex trader. You will be on the path of Neo, the One himself!

Forex Currency Trading For Profit - Exit Strategies

Author: Philip Wells

So! You've plunged into trading currencies in the Forex market. You've bought USD/JPY, and prices are skyrocketing. You're elated because the trade so far is going in your favor-- and you're wondering when to get out of the trade. When do you take your profits and run?

If you are in the situation that I just described, you've made one mistake that sooner or later is going to cost you a lot of money-- probably sooner. It is a common mistake made by newbies who are excited about getting into the Forex market and testing their skills. Think of it as by far the best way to wipe out your traing account in record time. Because the bottom line is: professional traders never begin a trade without an exit strategy firmly in place!

There is no such thing as a trading opportunity that is so exciting that you have to get in the trade right then and there or you will hate yourself forever. Remember that currency trading in the Forex markets is practically non-stop, 24/5.5 (not 24/7). Every day is filled with trading opportunities, plenty of them. If you only see the one oh-so-urgent opportunity before you, could it be that you are not quite ready to trade currencies?

Plan your exit strategy at the same time you plan your entry. Wiser words have seldom been spoken. Do no less.

For entry's sake, what kind of profits are you looking for: how many pips? 5 pips? 10 pips? 20 pips? More? You don't have to be dead-set on a specific number of pips. You can just watch and see if the pips grow in your favor. But if you know ahead of time how many pips will fill your appetite, getting out of a trade is a snap: exit when you've gotten your pips. Don't get greedy! There will be more pips on the table tomorrow.

How strong are your entry signals? Hopefully, you are not considering a trade based on just one financial indicator, as that, too, leads to financial ruin. Given then that you are using a combination of established financial indicators (MACD, RSI, Stochastics, Pivot Points, trandlines, Bollinger Bands), how often have you seen the combination that you are using succeed? How often have you seen it fail? Have you found any early-warning signs of impending failure in previous similar setups?

How many pips are you willing to risk? No, wait. That's only half the question. How many pips are you willing to risk in order to make how many pips? Will you risk 10 pips to make 10? 10 to make 20? Some say that risking 10 pips is not enough-- that if you're not willing to risk 20 pips, you should not be in a trade. Do you agree or disagree? What does that do to your goal of expecting to profit by x amount of pips in the trade?

The amount of pips that you are willing to risk in order to make x amount of pips is really just a gentle way of asking: where are you going to place your stop loss order? Trading without a stop loss order is kind of like bungee jumping without the cord. Trading currencies in the Forex is often extremely fast-paced. Without an automatic stop-loss order to protect you, you may not be able to get out of a trade in time to prevent losses from reaching disastrous levels.

Finally, here's what I have found to be the best question to ask: how much does the currency pair that you are trading spike? Some currencies (the Yen pairs come to mind) spike quite a lot. What's a spike? A spike is a short candle body with one long wick or with long wicks both top or bottom of the body.

Say price for the USD/JPY is at 120.05 when you buy-- and you're looking at the five minute chart. Price starts rising rapidly, very rapidly, and goes all the way up to 120.17. Then, alas, price starts retracing, all the way back back down to the 120.05 at which you bought. Instead of going back up, price keeps falling all the way down to 119.90. And, still within the same five minute candle, price resumes its upward trend and closes at 120.09. On the chart, the body, the solid part of the candle, is short-- from 120.05 to 120.09. The top wick rises from 120.09 to 120.17, the bottom wick falls from 120.05 to 119.90. That's spiking in both directions!

You bought at 120.05, predicting that price would go up-- and it did, five minutes later, closing 4 pips higher than the open. If your stop-loss order was 20 pips below your entry point, no problem-- you're still in the trade. If instead you placed your stop-loss order 10 pips below your entry point, here comes pain: you got stopped at 119.95, only to have price ending higher, proving your buy decision to be right.

When trading currencies in the Forex market, the bottom line on exit strategies is short and sweet. Have one or don't trade. Know how many pips you want to risk when placing your stop-loss orders. And, if you want to do yourself a favor, know if, how, when, and how often your trade's currency pair spikes.

A Beginner's Guide to Forex

Author: Mary McDowski

FOREX is the abbreviation for the Foreign Exchange market. FOREX is basically an international exchange market where currencies from all over the world are bought and sold for profit. The market today began in the 1970's. FOREX is a very unique market because it is not based in any particular place, and it also has very few qualifications for investing. FOREX is also free of external controls, and the investors (participants in the market) largely determine how much a currency is worth based on demand. Almost anyone can invest in FOREX, and there are strategies for investors who want to have long-term gains, and strategies for investors who desire short-term gains. The vast array of investors makes FOREX quite unique in the financial community.

The Workings of FOREX

FOREX is not centered at one place like the NYSE. The specific hours for FOREX trade are 24 hours a day from Sunday afternoon to Friday afternoon. FOREX transactions can take place at almost any time, anywhere, all over the world. There are FOREX dealers in almost all of the time zones, and it is simple to find them. Many dealers can be found online. All an investor does is decide what currency he or she wants to purchase, contact the dealer, and then makes the purchase. Many investors purchase using a credit line (money they do not have). This is called marginal trading.

What is Marginal Trading?

Marginal trading is a term used for trading with borrowed capital. FOREX investments can be made without actually having the money. All an investor needs to do is borrow the money for a certain currency. The investor wants to choose a currency that will increase in value quite rapidly. Once the currency increases, the investor pays back the money he or she borrowed and makes sheer profit. This is a high-risk investment, but the rewards are great (as with most high risk investments).

Two Types of FOREX Analytics

FOREX traders often have to analyze the market. Like all investments, FOREX involves a certain amount of calculated risk. Two ways to calculate these risks are though Technical Analysis and Fundamental Analysis.

Technical Analysis is based on the idea that trends through history will continue. A FOREX investor will notice that a certain currency is very strong and seems to be rising at a normal rate. The same investor will also suppose that the currency will not decline in value, and will continue to rise, as it has done in the past. The investor then purchases a large amount of that currency and expects to make a profit. This investment entails a large assumption but is relatively safe.

Fundamental Analysis is an analysis of an entire countries situation. Investors utilizing this technique look at the situation of the country in which the currency finds its base. Factors such as the countries economic status, political status, and global status are taken into account. For example, a Fundamental Analysis investor would not invest in currency from a country that just overthrew its leader and is in political shambles. Although this investment seems logical, it does not take into account one of the fundamental elements of FOREX trading. FOREX currency values are largely determined by the investors. That being said, Fundamental Analysis assumes that other FOREX traders will view a countries situation in the same way and respond accordingly.

Benefits of FOREX

FOREX can be very beneficial to a variety of people. FOREX trading can gain investors a large amount of money either over a long period of time, or in a short period of time. Investors who choose to invest in FOREX are generally well informed about the market and understand the current situations in many countries of the world. Investing in FOREX is simple and highly recommended for anyone who wants to enjoy profits from top-notch investments.

Forex Trading Machine Book Review: Surviving The Dreaded Drawdown

Author: Michael A. Jones

Many will find the explanation of three price driven trading techniques described in the second half of Avi Frister's "The Forex Trading Machine" the most absorbing part of his book.

However, chapter 6 provides crucial advice that, if ignored, can break even a seemingly successful trader. The chapter is entitled: Money Management - The Key To Successful Trading and the first main heading is: "The Monster of Trading - The Drawdown".

This observation hits the nail right on the head: "Dealing with those sometimes large drawdown's that every system or trading method has is probably the hardest part of being a trader." Amen!

A trader may have built up a good record of successful trades, his account growing steadily, and his confidence growing along with it. Then all of a sudden the trader gets a few losing trades in a row. With confidence a little shaken he continues as before only to get another batch of losing trades one after another. If he started his account with $20,000 and built it up to $30,000 but now is looking at a balance of $25,000 he has just experienced a dreaded drawdown, in this example, $5,000.

Many traders are now tempted into a self-destructive pattern of behavior. They begin to think their system is wrong! So they start to tweak it, experiment with it, perhaps even abandon it in favor of another system. Such reactions to a dreaded drawdown will probably only ensure the trader's remaining fragment of confidence is swept away too.

How to handle such a scenario? This ebook provides sage advice. Simply hold onto your seat and keep trading the way you did when you had the run of successful trades. Don't be tempted to think there is something wrong with the system or strategy you are using. Most successful strategies build profits over time. Patience is needed.

In addition to this rigid mental attitude, a calculated money management system needs to be in place. Avi Frister spells out the specifics which in my opinion are very reasonable and provide a strong foundation for safe trading.

His recommendation is not to risk more than 1.5% of your account on any one trade. In a regular 20K account, this means a stop loss no greater than 30 pips. This means you could have a losing run of 7-10 trades in a row and still your capital is preserved. Of course, with each losing trade you would consider cutting back on the number of positions you trade.

Once your account rises above pre-determined levels again, the number of lots or positions can be increased. This really provides a fail-safe method which avoids having an account wiped out through wild trading behaviors such as desperately trying a wide variety of new and different methods or placing a large number of lots on one trade far out of proportion to your equity.

Compounding is the way to build capital. Small consistent gains, compounded over time, can yield amazing results. If strict money management principles are followed and as long as the trader is mentally prepared for the dreaded drawdown, which will come at some time, he will survive to see another day and probably go on to enjoy exceptional profits.

The money management system detailed in chapter 6 of this book, therefore makes for essential reading. True, similar concepts are covered in other books dealing with the forex, but the way Avi Frister explains it here just seems to click and hit home.

Great Value Material

If you are going to buy FOREX education make sure you buy from people who have made money and there are some great books available that cost very little in your local bookstore or online.

Jacob Bernstein

Really gets into the mindset of successful traders and his books are always a very good read.

Market Wizards & The New Market Wizards – Jack Schwager

These books interviewed a wide range of traders who can be considered legends.

Although they all trade differently they all have certain things in common.

Buy these books!

There are other books of course, but we like these, as there not only packed with great trading knowledge, there also easy to understand and fun to read.

Jumping Into Forex? - Jumping Off a Cliff!

Author: Kent Douglas

It is very, very simple: the Forex market can help make all your dreams come true or it can become a total nightmare and bleed you dry. As with anything in life, it helps to have a strategy in place to help guide present and future decisions. For Forex investors, there are a lot of options from which to choose, including:

• Scalping

• Swing

• Position

• Discretionary

• Automated

All of the investment strategies listed above have been proven effective in various ways and no doubt have a track record to back up their effectiveness. Still, Forex investing and the specific strategy used will boil down to the investor and their particular style: Hunter or Gatherer.

A hunter is very careful about every investment they make and do not like surprises. This style of Forex investing tends to favor technical analysis. Technical Forex traders sift through pricing charts and back test currency pairs to determine the pair with the greatest pip movement and the least volatility. A hunter does not necessarily believe that they will make a profit with every investment but they do believe that currency pricing momentum can be predicted from historical data. Trend Forex investors tend to favor technical analysis, are patient, and believe that the charts and disciplined investing are the surest path to success.

The gatherers, however, tend to favor fundamental analysis which involves the interpretation of how interest rates and overall economic performance (of the nations involved in the currency pair) will affect exchange rates. Scalping is a strategy of foragers and involves trying to predict currency rate fluctuations for a few hours or days into the future.

Those who believe in the foraging investing style believe that the size and volatility of the Forex market works to their advantage. For instance, when interest rate change announcements are made, foragers believe that they can predict and react to the market faster than the large players. If they predict how the information will change the exchange rates, then they should reap a profit if they can buy a position fast enough. Sudden spikes in gold prices, interest rates, oil prices—all of these things do indeed temporarily affect the markets—but can the forager really capitalize quicker than the larger players?

In truth, the odds are always going to be with the larger players—especially when it comes to having access to breaking news and then reacting to it before the rest of us! This is probably why most Forex traders are considered hunters and opt to use technical analysis to identify trends and then capitalize on them. It is much easier and safer to identify and capitalize on emerging new large trends than to try and make a quick profit guessing at the smaller trends of daily price movement. For anyone serious about success on the Forex, technical analysis, in my opinion, is the best method for making consistent profits and avoiding those horrendous cliffs!

What All Newbies Should Know About Forex Trading

Author: Duncan Lee

Over the years, forex trading has rapidly become one of the hottest topics around town as a way for people to invest their money and get rich. But how does a beginner know if forex trading is right for them and that it will be a safe investment? Here are some crucial elements of forex trading that anyone interested should know about even before attempting it.

Forex trading (some call it FX trading), is actually short for foreign exchange trading. Forex trading is quite different from options, commodities or stocks trading. Among the investment realm, it is the easily the largest market in the world and promises huge profits for the brave investors.

Simply put, forex trading is just the selling and buying of currencies between different nations. Unlike commodities or stocks trading, money is not used to purchase a certain commodity or stock. You either lose or make money depending on the exchange rate between a pair of currencies in forex trading.

One of the main differences of forex trading is that the investment is not made in a single company or a band of companies. Forex trading is actually an investment in the economic wellbeing of a country. In forex trading, you are laying a bet that the general economy of one nation will improve with respect to that of another nation.

Let us use an example where you are trading between the US Dollar and the Japanese Yen. Your analysis of the situation appears to indicate an increase in the value of the US Dollar and therefore a rise in its price while the Japanese Yen will drop in value. You then decide to execute a trade to buy US Dollars and sell Japanese Yen. If your analysis is accurate and your predictions come true, then the US dollar will rise in value while the Japanese Yen drops and you will make a profit!

You may now be asking: "Is that all there is to forex trading?" Unfortunately, the truth is it is not as simple as that. Fluctuations in the value of different currencies are incredibly hard to forecast because there are many factors that can contribute to changes in exchange rates. An important aspect to remember in forex trading is that you are always trading in pairs of currencies. You will always be buying one currency and selling another, thus in order to make an accurate prediction, you must look at both nation's economy and not just one of them.

Of course, there is no need to restrict yourself to trading only one pair of currencies in forex trading. The forex market offers dozens of currencies to choose from, but if you are just beginning in forex trading has only started out, it is highly recommended that you trade the seven major currencies first:

USD - US Dollar

GBP - British Pound

EUR - the Euro

CHF - Swiss Franc

JPY - Japanese Yen

CAD - Canadian Dollar

AUD - Australian Dollar

A good advice for individual investors is to concentrate their forex trading on just these seven major currencies. Gaining a strong understanding and knowledge of the economic wellbeing of these countries as well as their currency trends will allow you to become a master of forex trading.

Forex Trading - Why You Lose Money Trading Forex

Author: Nathan Pennington

There are three reasons why all trading failures happen. Yes, any account meltdown can be traced to one of three things. You're not going to like me for pointing them out (it's kind of like antibacterial liquid being poured into a cut--it hurts!)

Here are the three reasons:

1) Lack of focus
2) Lack of discipline
3) Being flat out lazy

"Lack of focus" means that you never learn one good trading system. You bounce around to the latest and greatest. Another form of lack of focus is not actually doing your trading or perhaps not using good stoploss values.

A lack of focus is deadly to your account balance. But there's worse . . .

With a lack of discipline, you're not making sure you have an edge in the market. You don't test your system. You don't stick to your trading rules after you've proven them. You take someone's word for something instead of testing it yourself. This is a biggie. But believe it or not, there's one even worse yet.

That's right, being flat out lazy. If you're like this, you trade with a broker known to be shady. You trade in such a manner that you make yourself an easy mark for the market maker sharks. (Don't for a moment think it's worse in forex than other markets. Money corrupts. Scoundrels are in all markets. Some of the worst have been in the futures markets.)

If you attempt day trading, you're lazy. You're looking for a quick buck. The brokers are going to take your money, and you can't do anything about it.

Don't make yourself an easy mark. Learn how to trade in such a way that you're safe. (Let me coin a new phrase, "defensive trading.")

Sun Tzu Art Of War In Forex Trading - How To Be A Profitable Forex Trader

Author: Peter Lim

" Forex Trading is so hard. I seldom have a winning trade!" " Forex Trading is so easy. I just have another winning streak for the entire week!"

Two Groups of Forex Traders - The Losers And The Winners

Read the two statements above again. These are two of the main statements I often hear from friends who are trading forex. Diametrically opposite, these two statements contrast greatly between themselves- one group of traders finding forex trading so very difficult for themselves, hardly able to get a winning trade. Traders from this group are fumbling at the ropes, trying to become profitable traders and to be able to bring home the roost. Traders of another group are the happier ones. They are consistently profitable in their trades. They are the winners in the forex market.

You look around- and you see others are doing so well in forex trading, and amassing personal wealth, even trading for a living- some of them making thousands of dollars each time they trade- and you think you should be one of them.

Why 90% Of Forex Traders Are Losers

So why is it that 90% of the traders in forex not making consistent money? What is it that the other 10% of the traders have that make them the superb winners?

Currency trading was until recently the domain of the super rich and of the big time institutions. Unless you are well oiled, and have deep pockets or a huge sum of money as a capital support, it is not likely for you to even access currency trading.

However, this changed with time, especially when forex mini accounts were created, leading to a surge in people wanting to trade in forex.

This led to a problem...and the problem began to become bigger and bigger and exists till this day.

Forex trading is just simply exploding, with over $2 trillion dollars worth of currencies transacted every single day, with this accelerated growth bringing along problems.

Many people are getting into forex trading without the proper training and proper education as traders. The easy accessibility of the internet made it worst. Many beginners merely scour the internet based websites, picking up morsels of trading knowledge on forex here and there and started to trade. Not that self education is not enough, but the nature of forex trading is such that those who are successful traders are simply not telling how they trade. Most successful traders are traders, their time being occupied by their trading and research into trading setups and have no time to promote their trading signals on the internet. To them, they are first and foremost traders and not educators, and there is simply no reason to post their skills or give away their secrets of successful trading for free on the internet.

The easy access of the internet has led to a proliferation of websites featuring some common trading systems purportedly useful for forex trading. The popularity of forex trading has led to a viral duplication of these websites with almost similar content, until a big majority of forex traders who gleaned their "education" and training from the internet to concentrate on such systems, without knowing exactly when they are suitable for use and when they should not be used at all.

Among other factors, this is one of the main factors why a big majority of the self-taught forex traders are not making any money, or at best are inconsistent in their trading. Most of them are just using the wrong tools or the wrong trading systems and have not gotten to master their trades or themselves.

Sun Tzu"s Art of War Provides The Solution To Your Trading Blues

Sun Tzu's Art of War provides a key solution to successful battle, which can be extrapolated to forex trading.

Sun Tzu's Art of War called it: "Know Your Enemy"

And your enemy in forex trading is merely the forex market itself and you- the person itself.

To win in the forex market, you must know the forex market itself - in other words, you must get to understand the currency-pairs that you are trading on. Spend time to study their price movements. Know what trading patterns and setups occur time and again in those currency-pairs. Be familiar with the risk-reward ratios of each specific trade pattern for those currency-pairs you are trading. Define and apply a specific trading strategy for those currency-pairs you trade. Know when to enter and exit the market and when to stay away. The best way to ensure you are doing it correctly is to get another experienced and successful trader to mentor or to show you the ropes. Budget to learn before you trade.

As to the other part of the battle, you need to see the part of you, yourself who is the enemy. Forex trading involves decision making where your risk tolerance is put to the test, where emotions of greed and fear will play a daily tug of war within your heart. The solution to win this emotional battle is to trade with discipline. Adopting a winning strategy, a winning plan complete with risk management and ensuring you do not deviate from that plan is a necessity for you to win. Again, have your mentor to show you and to fine tune that trading plan.

You can join the 10% of forex traders who are consistent winners, and start to create a consistent income trading from home, away from the rat race if you are prepared to learn.

Forex Trading - The Best Beginner's Forex Trading Method

Author: Nathan Pennington

I remember how I first traded forex. I'd open my trading platform and stare at the numbers bouncing up and down. Then I'd jump into the action. (It took me a while to figure out why I always started negative three in the profit/loss column. I didn't even know how the spread worked.)

Then I'd try to exit with a quick 7 pips. It didn't take me long to figure out that I needed a plan, but then this other question looms big. What system?

Let me help to easy the pain. If you are new, here is a simple system that works. Doubtless you have heard the saying that the trend is your friend. This is true.

Put some moving averages on your chart. Right now we don't care if they are simple moving averages or exponential moving averages. Make them make one 20 periods long. Make another 5 periods long.

Here's what you're looking for. You want the price to move between the two moving averages while in a trend.

For example, let's say the 20 is strongly pointing up. A bar has closed inside of the two averages. That's your setup.

Warning: Work Required

I don't know which time frame you'll be trading on (60 minute, daily, etc), you need to work out your own stop loss and profit target. Put those indicators on your charts and scroll back. Would a 15 pip stop kept you in winning trading (usually)? Figure that out and then demo trade.

This system has a lot going for it as you are trading with the trend (and yes, the trend is your friend).

Do you want to learn more about how I trade? I have just completed my brand new guide, "Forex Trading - What Finally Worked For Me".

Comparing Stock in Forex

Author: Martin Lukac

Like stock market exchange, Forex comprehends brokers. Investors often open up accounts, which they believe that the broker supplies as a stepping-pea to avoid risks. Traders make this mistake often and feel annoyed when they only have their self to blame when the broker lets them down. Traders sometimes do not fully relate to brokers duty, which his responsibility is primarily to use checkpoints with limited access to spinning prestige. Traders have the sole responsibility to keep track of the stock market or the Forex exchange industry if they decide to buy/sell in the business.

Brokers too many times demand to adhere to codes. The brokers often stand fast up to date with in-thing*s in the market, surprisingly the Foreign Markets included. Brokers spend unlimited hours scoping out the greatest pips and spreads in stock or Forex exchange. Too often the investor will tot* basics in the low spreads intended for buying or selling pips with higher risks.

It is wise to always scrutinize the versions, advice and circumspectly ante venturing into stocks. Brokers will manage your account, yet you should never expect brokers to watch out for the risks in stock market or Forex. Some brokers take heart* on earnings from your account, yet the broker sole debits a warrant.

Riding with margins, brokers focus on prevailing lots, thus the weight could decry at one privileged class to one. Margins factor into pips, which sometimes drop at the atomic rates of 1%.

Margins at this rate could open speculation and inspire curiosity that could lead to higher stakes in the stock game. Those least experienced in stocks or Forex should invest some time to learn the values of pips and the rates that could instantly charge at $10, i.e. per unit and at rates at 100,000.

Margins work in union with "mini lots." The pip value would still be 1 percent, yet the size of the lots is what croupiers' focus on. Plentifulness gives brokers and investors size flexes, it could facilitate little access for operators in the market to identify with vassalages size subject to no their own investments, which could be $1 low.

Why Beginners Should Choose Forex Trading Over Stocks Trading

Author: Marcus Boo

Forex trading holds significant differences to stocks trading. Understanding these differences will aid a trader in deciding the right market to enter. Forex trading itself has several advantages over stocks trading and is ideal for the beginner and individual small investors.

1. Low Transaction Costs There are no hidden fees for forex brokers as they are not paid by the traditional commission based fees. The fee paid to the forex broker is calculated directly from the trade in the form of the bid ask spread. In forex trading, the spread is the difference in how much you pay for a currency and how much you sell it for. This spread is commonly expressed in "pips" or points.

2. Forex Trading is a 24 Hour Market Forex can be traded anytime of the day, the forex market is open for business twenty-four hours a day. This is considered a huge advantage for individual small investors who are just starting out to trade foreign exchange in their spare time. This allows forex traders to juggle their schedule around their trading opportunities; they can schedule their forex trading when it is convenient for them.

For those of you who are night owls and prefer to trade at 1am, then foreign exchange trading is just right for you. Depending on where you stay, there are banks opposite the globe open for you to trade.

3. Fast Trade Execution and High Liquidity Trading the foreign exchange means that you are trading in cash. No other form of investment has more liquidity than cash and as such, trades are executed almost instantly. There is no lag time in forex trading.

4. Having Leverage and Margin One of the significant advantages that forex traders have is the ability to trade on margin. This gives them a huge leverage in their trading and presents the potential for extraordinary profits with relative small investments. Let's take for example; with a forex broker that allows a margin of 100:1, you can buy $100,000 in currency with only a small $1,000 deposit. A word of caution for the uninitiated, leverage can go both ways and may lead to large losses if you are not careful.

5. Forex Trading Requires Only a Small Sample to Study Stocks trading present thousands upon thousands of stocks to trade. Small and large companies, international companies, newly issued IPOs etc. It is highly impossible to follow them all.

Forex trading, on the other hand, presents only seven major currencies to follow so that you can devote more time to each of them. Many successful currency traders do not even trade in all seven major currencies; they just choose three or four and master them to achieve success in forex trading.

6. No Bear Markets In forex trading, since you can trade either short or long, you will be able to make money whether the prices go up or down, that is if your predictions are accurate of course.

7. Forex Market is Not Easily Influenced. The forex market is so amazingly huge that no one individual, bank, fund or government body can influence it for a long period of time. Foreign exchange trading is the opposite of stocks trading where one negative television appraisal of a company's stock could possibly send it into a tailspin.

Based on the above advantages, forex trading is a clear winner for the beginner and individual small investors. If you are deciding on a form of trading to enter and master, then forex trading is the choice for you.

Bollinger Bands & Fibonacci Retracements In Forex

Author: Adrian Pablo

Recently Forex trading has become one of the most looked after occupations that will allow you to earn a living from home or anywhere else. If you are really considering entering the forex trading world you must, by all means, learn and understand a number of indicators that will lend you a big hand on predicting with a high probability the directions forex markets may take as you analyze the price charts for any currency pair you are trading at the moment. Two of these great indicators are: “Bollinger Bands” and “Fibonacci Retracements”.

“Fibonacci retracement levels” are based on a sequence of numbers discovered by the noted mathematician Leonardo da Pisa in Italy. These numbers describe cycles found throughout nature and when applied to technical analysis can be used to find pullbacks in the currency market.

“Fibonacci retracement levels” are a quite effective way “to see the future” (at least in the world of forex markets), with this I mean that it involves anticipating changes in trends as prices near the levels indicated by the Fibonacci ratios. After a significant price move (either up or down), prices will often retrace a significant portion of the original move. As prices retrace, support and resistance levels often occur at or near the “Fibonacci Retracement levels” (See my other articles on “Fibonacci trading” for more details about this).

The interpretation given to “Bollinger Bands” is that prices tend to stay within the space formed by the tracings of the upper and lower bands. The distinctive characteristic of “Bollinger Bands” is that the spacing between the bands varies based on the volatility of the prices. During periods of high volatility, the bands widen to become more forgiving. During periods of low volatility, the bands narrow to contain currency prices. The common use is that the bands are plotted two standard deviations above and below a simple moving average. They indicate a "sell" when prices are above the moving average and a "buy" when prices are below it. The bands are used by some forex traders in conjunction with other analyses, including RSI, MACD, CCI, and Rate of Change.

All successful Forex Traders develop their own System. Learn how.

Don't Rush Into Forex Trading

Author: Once I starting enjoying making profit on the forex market, the word got out, everyone I know starte

Once I starting enjoying making profit on the forex market, the word got out, everyone I know started asking me if I would teach them about the world of forex trading. This is what I tell them:

The first thing is get ready for a life-changing adventure! Once you get a taste of making money by sitting in front of your computer monitor, there is no turning back. Then after getting them all fired up (I am one of these people who get passionate about things I believe in - can' help it), I get them into a free demo account as quickly as possible, usually within minutes. Then, I show them how to use an online trading station (free computer software that allows you to use your demo account to interact with the largest money market in the world - with over $1.5 trillion exchanging hands per day - HUGE market!). The wonderful thing about these free demo accounts is that they are exactly the same as real trading - unlike learning how to invest in the stock market, for example, where you have to pretend that someone will sell to you and that someone will buy from you - and that is not real at all! The forex market is so liquid (instant buyers and sellers) that both the demo and real accounts behave exactly the same! What a great way to learn - when you switch to a real account, you can't even tell.

Then, I get them to practice, using various proven techniques, with their demo account until they feel comfortable that they are consistently making profits. At first, like anything, you need to learn from experts. You need a mentor to teach you. You can't just do what you 'think' will work - you must learn techniques that really work. Trading is both a science and an art, so practice is very valuable before you start to trade for real. I tell them to be patient, the thrills are coming soon!

Then the day arrives, they open a real account and start trading in a mini account (designed for beginners or those who want to do smaller, yet real, trades). Once they see real money being made, they can hardly wait to trade in a regular account - but again I tell them to practice because now the trades are real. Because they did their homework and practiced proven techniques with the demo accounts, the transition to a real account is easy - the hardest part is learning not to shake in your shoes as they enter into this exciting arena along side the wealthiest people in the world. Keeping calm takes awhile and then they come to the realization that they too are on their way to making more money than they ever imagined.

What amazed me when I first looked into forex trading was the amount of available websites offering endless promises about riches to be made forex trading. Yet, at the same time, I quickly learned from real experts that most people who follow this advice lose all of their investment in the first few months! Wow! So, not wanting to make that huge mistake, I followed the advice I now give to my friends. Start with a demo, then a mini-account and finally move to a regular account all the while being mentored by someone who really knows how to make profits in the forex market. By following this advice myself, I survived the first few months and now make wonderful profits! I love it!
